The Hagneck hydro power station, which received an 80-year concession in January from canton Bern, is to be repowered by operator Bielersee Kraftwerke AG (BIK), 50% owned by BKW and the city of Biel. The outputrnrating of the renovated plant will increase from the present 11 MW to 21 MW, and production will grow by 35% from 80 GWh to 107 GWh, enough for 28,000 households.
