The 185-MW upgrade of Oskarshamn-2 nuclear reactor is to be postponed by two years to 2015, operator OKG said November 2. OKG acting chief executive Ingemar Engkvist said the company's board decided to postpone the upgrade from 2013 in order to plan the project better. In total, the capacity of the unit is slated to be increased from 665 MW to 850 MW. About 50 MW of that will come from new turbines. Engkvist said that OKG would make safety improvements at Oskarshamn-2 in 2013 as planned.
