Fortum is to help finance the bidding and engineering phase of TVO's fourth nuclear unit at Olkiluoto, with a stake corresponding Fortum's 26% share in TVO, the Finnish utility said October 31. According to a decision-in-principle, ratified by the Finnish Parliament in July 2010, the application for a building permit for the Olkiluoto's fourth unit must be filed by June 2015. TVO is yet to decide whether to proceed with the bidding and engineering phase of the upto 1.8 GW project. TVO's main shareholder is Pohjolan Voima Oy, which holds 56%.
