Endesa and Gas Natural Fenosa used Q3 result announcements November 8 to join Iberdrola in attacking renewable premiums paid to "immature" technologies like solar, with GNF calling for a moratorium on new thermal solar plant construction. A week earlier solar thermal association Protermosolar had expelled Iberdrola from its 100-member organization for acting "contrary to the interests of the sector". Iberdrola president Ignacio Sanchez Gala"n had called on the government to block the construction of thermal solar plants because they are "economically inefficient". Protermosolar president Valeriano Ruiz accused Gala"n of attacking the sector after Iberdrola gained permission to build just one of 10 of its proposed thermal solar plants.
