E.on adds pv at Fiume Santo

E.ON is set to expand its solar PV portfolio in Italy by 29.6 MW with construction of two new plants, including the company's biggest solar plant to date, the German utility said September 5. Fiume Santo 2 (FS2,17.88 MW) and 5 (FS5,11.72 MW) will be the sixth and seventh solar PV plants developed by E.ON in Italy in the last 18 months. Situated in the Porto Torres area in northwest Sardinia, FS2 and FS5 will be next to E.ON's coal-fired power plant Fiume Santo. "With the completion of FS2 and FS5 at the end of 2011, we will have built a European PV portfolio with a capacity of more than 60 MW," E.ON's head of solar PV Christophe Jurczak said.
