Investments being carried out by Enel-controlled Slovenske Elektrarne will see Slovakia's dominant power producer exporting surplus electricity from one of the cleanest generation portfolios in Europe, according to Nicola Cotugno, the director of the company's power division. Slovenske Elektrarne is building two new 440-MW reactors at the Mochovce nuclear power plant, having completed late last year the repowering of its two reactors at Bohunice. Meanwhile it is introducing biomass co-firing at its coal-fired plants in Vojany and Novaky.
