1. Irish utility ESBI has offered to sell its 860 MW combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) project at Tamon, in the northern region of Asturias, to utilities such as Iberdrola, HC Energfa and Gas Natural Fenosa. ESBI has permission to build two CCGTs on a site, but said March 7 it lacked financing for the project. Investment for the plant is estimated at some €500 million. 2. Endesa and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia have launched the first official international master's degree in nuclear engineering in Spain. The course will last for one academic year, plus more than six months of practices in companies and nuclear installations.
