Lada CCGT shelved

Iberdrola has shelved plans for a 1,100-MW combined cycle plant at Langreo "for the short- or mid-term", the utility said October 30. The Lada CCGT plant has been left out of Iberdrola's investment plans for the next three years. When the project was first conceived in 2008, investment was set at €460 million.A week earlier the utility had announced its 2012-2014 strategic plan. It is to invest €10.5 billion net in the three years, 37% less than in 2010-2012, of which 59% in transmission and 25% in renewables (25%). Some 42% of the total would be focused on the UK market via its Scottish Power affiliate. It planned divestments of €5 billion and debt reduction of €6 billion to €26 billion.
