Spain's deficit plan 'lacks credibility'

Portugal's plans to eliminate its electricity tariff deficit are more credible than Spain's, ratings agency Fitch said September 10. Portuguese plans benefit from a deadline for tariff deficit elimination, a detailed agenda and supervision process, and regulatory independence, the agency said. These elements are either absent from, or less well developed, in Spain's roadmap, Fitch said.
