Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission has awarded a €120 million contract to Nexans of France to supply and install a subsea cable for the Kintyre-Hunterston link, the French company said August 26. The high voltage cables will be installed in water depths of around 100 meters to link the new Crossaig substation on the Kintyre peninsula to Hunterston on the Ayrshire coast. Installation will be carried out by Nexans' cable ship, the C/S Skagerrak.
