Month-ahead gas up 48% to gas-year high

UK gas for month-ahead delivery averaged 48% more during August than a year ago, and surpassed all month-ahead averages for the current gas year, according to S&P Global Platts price data. The September front month averaged 63.118 p/th during August, an increase of 9.3% month on month. This was just shy of the percentage gain seen in December when the Forties Pipeline System went down and the month ahead gained 9.4% to average 59.34 p/th.
