The Cal-19 contract traded at Zloty 225.95/MWh ($61.67/rnMWh) July 26, down from a high of Zloty 227/MWh July 24rnbut up 1% from Zloty 223.84/MWh July 19 thanks to strongerrndemand, record EUA prices and some hedging, one traderrnsaid. Prices for the Cal 19 contract have risen 36% year onrnyear driven by a 14% rise in coal prices and a 200% jump inrncarbon prices. Spot prices were slightly stronger in weekrn30, averaging Zloty 234.24/MWh July 26, up 2% from Zlotyrn229.65/MWh due to stronger power prices in the region,rnhigher temperatures and wind generation below 1 GWh allrnweek. The average temperature in Warsaw was threerndegrees hotter than normal July 26, and forecast to rise intornearly August. Prices for August rose to July 24, reachingrnZloty 251.00/MWh before falling back to Zloty 242.88/MWhrnJuly 26. The price check was caused by an announcementrnthat the outage on the NordBalt line was to be delayed byrntwo weeks from August 1 to August 16, a trader said. Polandrnhas been importing electricity from Germany, Sweden andrnLithuania during peakload and exporting during off peakrnhours due to the stronger regional power prices.
