Macedonia to launch disco sale in November

Macedonia will launch the privatization of the recently unbundled distribution company known as ESM in mid-November, informed sources confirmed to EiEE on September 26. Strategic investors will be invited to bid for a majority stake in the newly-formed distributor, which serves some 720,000 tariff consumers and has annual sales of approximately 4.5TWh. The distributor also comprises 11 small hydropower plants with a combined capacity of about 36MW and annual output of about 150GWh, seven of which are currently operated by Hydropol of the Czech Republic under a 12-year Rehabilitate, Operate, Transfer concession awarded in 2002.
