End user tariffs rise in sympathy

Eurostat recently released its latest round up of household and industrial tariffs across Europe as of January 1, 2005. Variations in household rates from the January 1, 2004 survey reveal a general upward trend across central and eastern Europe with a few notable exceptions. For standard industrial consumer group le with taxes included, the CEEC country with the largest increase for the twelve months to January 2005 was Romania (40%) - indeed this was the biggest hike across the whole of Europe. The most significant decrease for the same user segment is found in Lithuania (3%).
