UK-based upstream junior JKX Oil & Gas may have to defer first gas sales from its Koshekhablskoye field in Russia to 2010 because of problems with equipment procurement and regulatory approvals. "The revised schedule for procurement, construction and installation of additional new equipment, with provision for the attendant custom clearances and regulatory approvals, may defer [the] target for sales gas delivery into 2010," JKX said November 13 in a statement. JKX had hoped to make its first Russian gas sales in the first half of 2009. The first test well at Koshekhablskoye will also be put back to the end of the year because of delays in customs clearance, it said.
