Agaoglu to invest $380m in wind

Turkish construction group Agaoglu is to invest $380 million in two wind plants with a combined installed capacity of 203 MW.The company said in a press release issued September 9 that it intends to complete construction of the 78-MW Gokceada wind farm, on the Turkish North Aegean island of Gokceada, and on the 125-MW Tatlipinar wind farm at Balikesir in northwest Turkey, in 2013. Agaoglu submitted a bid of 5.55 kurus/kWh ($0.031/kWh) for grid access for the Gokceada plant, the highest bid yet recorded in Turkey's 13 grid access tenders, and plans to lay a 30-km-long undersea cable to connect the plant to the Turkish grid.
