Vestas receives new turbine order

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has received "a firm and unconditional order" for turbines for an 82-MW project being developed in Marszewo in northwestern Poland. The order from Iberdrola Engineering and Construction Poland, the local engineering arm of the Spanish utility, comprises supply, installation and commissioning of 22, V80-2.0 MW turbines and 19, V90-2.0 MW turbines as well as a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution, the turbine supplier said March 7. The contract also includes a three-year service and maintenance agreement. The value of the contract was not disclosed. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to start at the end of 2012 and to be completed in 2013, it added.
