UK CCS developer Storegga begins work on direct CO2 capture facility

UK-based Storegga has begun work together with Canada’s CarbonEngineering on a facility in Scotland that will be able to permanentlyremove 500,000-1 million mt/year of carbon dioxide from theatmosphere, the companies said June 24.The proposed facility will be the first large-scale facility of its kindin Europe and the partners are aiming for it to be operational by 2026.“Once complete, it will be a model for how this clean infrastructurecan be deployed across the continent to help achieve critical net-zerotargets,” the companies said in a joint statement.
