PSEG net surges 81% to record $1.33 billion with higher generation and utility gas profits

Public Service Enterprise Group's net income surged 80.6% to a record $1.33 billion, beating the 2003 mark of $1.16 billion. Most of the $596 million increase came with a $665 million leap at generation unit PSEG Power, plus a $115 million hike at utility Public Service Electric & Gas-mainly on the natural gas side-more than offsetting a $194 million slide at PSEG Energy Holdings, including PSEG Global.
