SoCal Ed wins state court case clearing way to build 45-mW peaking plant in Oxnard

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge rejected the city of nOxnard’s attempt to stop Southern California Edison from nbuilding a 45-MW peaking plant in Oxnard.nThis decision follows almost three years of regulatory and nlegal efforts by Oxnard to prevent construction. nThe California Coastal Commission approved the proj-nect in April 2009, following the city’s denial of a permit in nAugust 2007. Oxnard then filed the lawsuit in the Superior nCourt of California County of Los Angeles in May 2009, ask-ning that the commission’s coastal development permit be nwithdrawn.
