Kentucky regulators question duke’s decision to move Kentucky, Ohio subsidiaries to PJm

Kentucky regulators are questioning the rationale for nDuke Energy’s decision to leave Duke Energy Indiana in the nMidwest Independent Transmission System Operator while nseeking to transfer sister Kentucky and Ohio utilities to the PJM nInterconnection.nDuke announced plans in May to switch both Duke Energy nOhio and Duke Energy Kentucky from MISO to PJM, both nregional transmission organizations. For that to happen, the nCharlotte, North Carolina-based company needs approval from nboth the Kentucky Public Service Commission and Federal nEnergy Regulatory Commission. nIn its latest information request to Duke, issued July 20, the nPSC wants to know why the company is leaving the Indiana nutility in MISO, given Duke’s stated explanation for shifting the nothers to PJM.
