NIst smart grid standards about to emerge; federal subcommittee document due in fall

A final version of a set of operational standards for utility nsmart grid plans should be released any day now, according to nGeorge Arnold, national coordinator for smart grid interoper-nability at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Speaking outside a Washington conference on demand nresponse and smart grid issues, Arnold said NIST will release the nstandards by the end of June after having worked through sev-neral drafts and comments on them since last year.
