Utah PsC approves PacifiCorp unit’s plan to add 1,500 mw of transmission capacity

The Utah Public Service Commission last week approved a n500-kV/345-kV project proposed by Rocky Mountain Power that nwould add about 1,500 MW of transmission capacity.nThe Mona-to-Oquirrh project is one element of the roughly n$6 billion Energy Gateway project, a 2,000-mile line crossing nthe service territories of Rocky Mountain Power and Pacific nPower, both units of PacifiCorp (EUW, 28 April ‘08, 24). In a nJune 16 decision, the PSC found the Mona-to-Oquirrh project to nbe in the public interest.
