A new British Columbia law makes the development and nexport of renewable power a province-wide policy.nTermed the Clean Energy Act, the law calls for the prov-nince to produce 93% of its electricity from clean or renewable nresources; places decisions for large energy projects under the npremier’s authority, rather than the British Columbia Utilities nCommission; and folds British Columbia Transmission into nBC Hydro.
