During the period of 13 to 24 September 2010. the Department of Genetics. University of Silesia in Katowice. Poland was the host of the Regional Training Course on Use of Induced Mutations (TILLING) and DNA Markers in Cereal Genetics and Breeding. The training course was organized under the IAKA regional TC project on evaluation of Natural and Mutant Genetic Diversity in Cereals Using Nuclear and Molecular Techniques (ReR/5/013). The purpose of the training was to provide participants with theoretical and practical aspects of the use of mutant populations and the applications of efficient techniques in screening for and utilization of useful mutants in breeding and genetics of cereals.
