SensorTran Inc. has rolled out its distributed temperature sensing (DTS) Calibration Module. The proprietary system is said to enable the first truly auto-correcting calibration for DTS. SensorTran says its DTS technology has applications in pipeline flow assurance and leak monitoring, storage tank leak detection and other energy industry functions. The module works with the company's DTS 5100 family of products. It offers continuous verification of calibration and automatically adjusts itself when discrepancies are identified. SensorTran says the auto-correcting capability provides considerable cost savings by freeing crews to concentrate on mission-critical tasks.
