Valerus Compression Services will receive a $583,000 grant designed to provide formal safety and technical training as well as continuing education courses for its more than 490 Texas-based employees. The grant was awarded by the Texas Workforce Commission and the curriculum will be supported through Texas State Technical College. Training will be held in Odessa, Waco, Sweetwater, Marshall, Victoria, Fort Worth, Corpus Christi, Schulenburg, Bay City and Pearland.rnCourses include computer, electrical, mechanical, operations and safety training. Employees will get hands-on training at a specially developed trailer-mounted mobile compressor unit that will travel to Texas training sites.
