WrapMaster, Inc. a manufacturer of pipe and structure rehabilitation systems, offers several rigid composite sleeving systems for the structural reinforcement of high pressure piping.rnThe PermaWrap~(TM) System is an 8-layer rigid composite sleeving system designed for the structural reinforcement of pipe defects up to 80% wall loss. The WeldWrap System is a single unit 10-layer rigid composite sleeving system designed specifically for defects in or near the girth weld. Both products are compliant with DOT Parts 192 and 195.rnOne distinct feature of both rehabilitation systems is that they are designed and manufactured to be Smart Pig Detectable, eliminating any post identification method or procedure. This feature enables Pipeline Operators to use existing inspection technology to monitor their rehabilitated areasrnand prevents excavation for repair of any previously repaired defects. Another distinct feature is the surface embossment of the composite. The surface embossment called "diamond lock" provides a functional texture allowing the individual layers to "nest within each other" creating a mechanical lock in addition to a chemical bond with the adhesive. Both sleeves are constructed using a custom-made bi-axial fiber cloth. The biaxial reinforcing fibers used are as close to parallel and equidistant as possible, providing a more consistent load transfer and resistance to cracking. As a positive consequence of this laminate construction, the overall system lends itself to be superior to other technology in use today.
