High-speed Digital X-ray Detectors Promise Faster Pipeline Inspection

New high-energy, radiation-hardened detectors have been introduced to the global NDT market to provide highspeed, real-time industrial pipeline inspections.rnPerkinElmer's new amorphous silicon (a-Si) digital x-ray detectors offer twice the output speed of previous designs. The detectors help inspectors by providing output up to 30 fps Vhile maintaining a 16-bit resolution and the ability to produce real-time images. This allows for real-time field and manufacturing floor inspection, detection, and diagnosis of faulty welds and material vulnerabilities for both new pipelines as well as checking the integrity of aging pipeline infrastructures.
