When it comes to energy and the economy, the U.S. and Canada have a long and prosperous history. As our top trading partner, Canada plays an integral role in U.S. job creation. It is also our largest supplier of oil, providing nearly 2 million barrels per day, or more than 20% of U.S. imports. Today, our great countries have yet another opportunity to strengthen this longstanding partnership while creating jobs, long-term economic benefits and greater energy security through a project known as the Keystone XL pipeline.
