Manzanillo - Guadalajara Pipeline Nears Completion

TransCanada, through its Mexican subsidiary, Energia Occidente de Mexico, just completed the gas pipeline from Manzanillo to Guadalajara which began construction in May 2010. At 305-km (190 miles) in length, the 24- and 30-inch diameter natural gas pipeline will have the capacity to move 500 MMcf/d from Manzanillo to Guadalajara, Mexico's second-largest city. The gas pipeline is being built by GDI SICIM Pipelines S.A. de C.V The Guadalajara-Manzanillo pipeline is located in the states of Colima and Jalisco and has an estimated cost of $360 million. The pipeline will have two segments. The first consists of approximately six km of 24-inch diameter pipeline capable of transporting 500 MMcf/d of natural gas from the Manzanillo LNG re-gasification terminal, scheduled for completion in September, to an existing CFE power plant in Manzanillo.
