AMC Connector: New Generation Installation/ConstructionVessel

ABB has awarded Aker Solutions' whol-ly owned subsidiary, Aker Marine Contractors, a contract to install its subsea power cable for the Goliat field in the Barents Sea located northwest of Hammerfest, Norway at a water depth of about 400 meters. The Italian energy company Eni is operator on the field with an ownership of 65% with Statoil holding 35%. Aker Marine Contractors will install the cable utilizing its new-build subsea installation and construction vessel, AMC Connector, that is under construction at the STX Europe shipyard in Seviknes, Norway. She will be ready for operations in early 2012.
