Regarding the article "Unlocking The Potential of Unconventional Gas" in the March issue of P&GJ. Engineering News-Record for June 17th has a cover story "Predicting the Unpredictable" in which part of the coverage is on drought conditions causing water shortages around the country. Climate warming may make this a long-term problem for utilities, industrial users, and agricultural irrigation. (Other parts of the country may have a surplus of water). In the story on Unlocking the Potential..., "produced waters" are mentioned several times.
