It was established by corrosion-mechanical analysis of austenitic non- magnetic 8Mn-8Ni-4Cr steels that these steels shown stress-corrosion cracking (SCC) even in low aggressive water solution, also in wet working environment at temperature 80鉉. usage of coating and specimen surface mechanical treatment lead to increasing time to failure. Only deep hydrogen dewatering. Used for tyre cooling, removes the SCC causes. 40Kh4G18 steel can not be strengthened by cold working because of increased tendency to α-martensite formation in plastic deformation as a result of insufficient austenite stabilization.
