The absorption, photoluminescence, photo-stimulated luminescence (PSL) and emission decay of CsBr:Cu and CsBr:CuO crystals have been studied for estimation of the application possibilities of the compounds based on CsBnCu as a storage phosphors. The role of the Cu~(2+) and Cu~+ ions in the PSL proceses of the CsBr: Cu compounds was considered. The comparison with the storage properties of the CsBr: Cu and CsBr: CuO crystals with the CsBr:Eu crystals have been provided.
