Disenos y metodos de investigacion en traduccion [Method and design in translation research]

I first came into contact with research methodology in the field of Translation Studies (TS) in October 2003 through my studies in the 'Translation and Intercultural Studies' PhD program at UAB (Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona). Unfortunately, no book on research methodology like the one recently published by Saldanha and O'Brien (2013) was available at that time, the main reason being that new research methods and designs were still finding their way into the TS field. Through investigating different research methods from neighboring fields (mainly applied linguistics, literary and cultural studies, history, psychology, and sociology) and learning about their methodological backgrounds and theoretical paradigms, it was apparent that, at the beginning of the twenty-first century, methodological issues were still scarcely visible in TS.
