PWI North West Technical Seminar: S&C Maintenance, Reliability and Life Extension

Had it been held a day earlier, the third North West Technical Seminar could have been memorable for all the wrong reasons, due to a five hour evacuation of the surrounding area which caused a minor logistical headache for the conference organisers. As it turned out, the seminar turned out to be memorable for all the right reasons, providing a stimulating day of technical talks and excellent opportunities for sharing knowledge and exchanging ideas. This third seminar provided a logical conclusion to the North West's previous two seminars on the topics of S&C design and S&C manufacture and installation. Jol Bates, PWI President, opened the proceedings by welcoming the audience and introducing the Chair for the morning, Roy Hickman, Planning and Business Development Manager for Network Rail. Roy continued by introducing the first speaker, David Godley, Professional Head of Track for Network Rail.
