I am interested in resource management and performance optimization in distributed systems. In particular, my research involves the design and implementation of scheduling (resource allocation) polices for cloud-deployed applications. With the emergence of the cloud computing paradigm, many online services and applications are now provided by cloud deployed resources. The cloud offers virtually unlimited and economical compute and storage resources to end-users. These resources can be leased on an hourly basis, and are provided by several cloud service providers, such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and IBM.
