U.S. Judge Jose Linares of the District of New Jersey administratively terminated on April 19 the $365-million consent order that would have resolved the liability of Cornell-Dubilier Electronics Inc. (CDE) to the United States and New Jersey over the 26-acre Cornell-Dubilier Electronics Superfund Site in Middlesex County, New Jersey,The judge did so to consider a motion to intervene filed by Exxon Mobil Corp., which opposes the consent decree. Exxon is involved in insurance coverage litigation with CDE in New Jersey state court.
