Under its Architectural Design Studio program, the PCI Foundation is working directly with college and university architecture programs to institute a laboratory for student design experimentation in the creative application of current precast concrete design concepts. The foundation's first Architectural Design Studio was established at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago, Ill. Based on a proposal by Professor Tom Brock of IIT, the national PCI Foundation funded asemester-long, intensive, precast concrete studio that focused on the design of a Chicago charter school using sustainable practices and precast concrete materials.
