Change always holds opportunity. The cruise industry has undergone unprecedented change in the last year - as has the world. Now, as many cruise lines resume sailing, there is an opportunity for positive conversations centred around possibility and change. But what will change look like? One thing that remains unaltered through the pandemic is cruise interior designs dedication to guest experience. Although each cruise line's brand may be different, from elegant, classic interiors to bold, modern design, the desired result is the same: guests enjoying an unforgettable holiday experience. If guest experience is a fixture of cruise ship interiors design, how will world events shape corresponding market drivers? In 2019, Cruise Ship Interiors Expo Europe asked its conference speakers, what is the next big market driver in cruise ship interiors? Although these industry leaders worked across the market - from designers to shipowners - their answer was nearly unanimous: sustainability. In 2021, CSI Plus asked the industry the same question in the Industry Report. The answer? Sustainability! The trend remains, although it has matured. Suppliers and buyers have moved past the question, 'Is sustainability possible?' to 'How do we make a business case for sustainability?'
