Increased online sales have also played a role in innovating the packaging segment of the paper industry. Even in the industry itself, more than 15% of pulp and paper sales in the United States are expected to be conducted online in 2021. With increased online sales comes a higher demand for packaging. Packaging for food has also experience a constant development. Another trend that will continue to grow in the pulp and paper industry is the increasing demand for hygiene products and the subsequent need for packaging. This includes toilet paper, wipes, tissues and paper towels.
