Ipsa To Host Inaugural Annual National Packaging Congress

The inaugural IPSA Annual National Packaging Congress takes place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg from March 12-13 this year. The congress format is a day and a half and allows out-of-town delegates to travel to Johannesburg on the morning of the first day and leave on the afternoon of the second.rnThe congress is divided into five themed sessions - Perspective, The Case for Packaging, Fit for the Future (Part 1), Raising the Bar in Packaging Performance and Fit for the Future (Part 2) and is preceded by an optional workshop. IPSA will also host a display area showcasing selected packaging innovations.rnA number of international and local speakers are being invited to take part in the presentations, and at the time of going to press include confirmations from Ed Cordner, CEO of the Australian National Packaging Covenant who will speak on sustainability and waste management; Tessa Chamberlain, GM sustainable development Pick n Pay who will deliver an address on a retailer's perspective; and Andrew Marthinussen, executive director PACSA who will cover the SA industry's sustainability imperatives. These fall under Session 2: The Case for Packaging.
