Wine stored in plastic PET bottles starts to oxidise within six months, according to a new study that contradicts claims made by leading supermarkets on the shelf-life of the format.rnThe Institute of Vine and Wine Sciences (ISW) in Bordeaux carried out the yearlong study, which found that both the flavour and chemical composition of white wine changed within six months of being packed in single- or multi-layer PET bottles or bag-in-box.
