摘要

A new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report says almost six out of seven American drivers report they always wear a seat belt when driving or riding in a vehicle. Seat belt use has become the national norm in most states, with compliance varying widely from state to state. The highest rate was found in Oregon with 94 percent; the lowest was in North Dakota where just 59 percent buckle up. Despite the relatively high rates, CDC says that every 14 seconds in the United States, an adult is treated in an emergency department for crash-related injuries.
