Neural networks in organizational research: Applying pattern recognition to the analysis of organizational behavior

The authors draw on their combined years of experience in applying neural network modeling to organizational research topics to produce an interesting, but lightweight, tutorial and literature review-style text. They quite clearly state in their introduction that this text is for graduate students and practitioners who have experience with multivariate statistical modeling. An appropriate addition to the intended audience would be those graduate students and practitioners who intend to continue performing research, who want to gain an understanding of what neural networks are, and who want to explore the capabilities of the nonparametric neural network modeling paradigm. The text quite clearly focuses on using neural networks as a research methodology.
