Changing of the guard at Global Health Promotion

Le calendrier éditorial de la revue étant ce qu'il est, c'est à la mi-juin que j'écris ceci, mais ce ne sera entre vos mains qu'à la mi-décembre ! Avec de tels délais, ces éditoriaux ne sont en rien des nouvelles fraîches... mais enfin : en juillet il y aura (il y a eu ) d'importants changements à Global Health Promotion. Après trois années comme Rédacteur en chef, j'arrive au terme de mon mandat et une nouvelle Rédactrice en chef a été choisie pour occuper ce poste à ma place : le Dr. Suzanne F. Jackson de l'École de Santé publique Dalla Lana, à l'Université de Toronto. Mon principal objectif dans cet éditorial est de vous présenter Suzanne, mais je tiens auparavant à remercier avec admiration et gratitude mes fidèles collègues, à commencer par les trois Coordinatrices éditoriales que Global Health Promotion a connues durant mon mandat : Martha Perry, Aurélie de Gournay et actuellement, Sara Bensaude De Castro Freire. Chacune d'elles a travaillé avec un degré de professionnalisme et de dévouement qui est évident pour moi, mais que les lecteurs n'ont peut-être pas toujours remarqué. Elles m'ont soutenu à un point que je ne peux décrire de manière crédible ; leur niveau d'effort se trouve quelque part entre les 150% et l'infini. Mes connaissances en arithmétique me disent que cela n'est pas possible, mais mon expérience confirme l'existence de l'impossible.%Journal production schedules being what they are, I write this in mid-June, and it is in your hands in mid-December. With such delays, these editorials can never have anything to do with fresh news ... But as of July, there will be (have been ) important changes at Global Health Promotion. After three years as Editor-in-Chief, my term is up and a new Editor-in-Chief has been selected and is in the Chair, Dr Suzanne E Jackson of the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. My main aim in this Editorial is to introduce you to Suzanne, but first I acknowledge with admiration and gratitude my stalwart colleagues, starting with the three Managing Editors of Global Health Promotion during my tenure: Martha Perry, Aurelie de Gournay, and presently, Sara Bensaude De Castro Freire. Each and all have worked with a level of professionalism and dedication that is obvious to me, but perhaps less noticeable to readers. I have been supported by them to a degree that I cannot estimate in a credible way; their levels of effort have been somewhere between 150%) and infinity. My training in arithmetic tells me this is not possible, but my experience confirms the existence of the impossible.
