摘要

Constructivist learning theory can be used as a valid basis for establishing connections between ANN and ITS. In this paper, I have shown that a connection could be established through student modeling. In accordance with constructivist learning theory, the objective of student modeling is to model student knowledge for the purpose of understanding how the student constructs his knowledge. ANN learn the same way as humans, i.e. they construct its knowledge, and that characteristic makes them suitable for student modeling. One idea for future work is to examine the possibilities of practical application of ANN for simulating student's cognitive processes and for student classification.
