The Swedish Ministry of Defense, through the Swedish Army, sponsors the further development and Swedish Army procurement of this weapon system. Status. Development through as-needed serial production. Total Produced. Through 2010, we estimate the prime contractor and licensees produced 95,082 Carl Gustaf launchers. Application. A reusable, man-portable anti-armor and multipurpose weapon, optimized for use by infantrymen on the move.
