Grating-assisted coupler used as a narrow bandwidth channel-dropping filter

摘要

A theoretical analysis of a modified grating-assisted coupler involving an additional long period grating in the input channel is presented. We show that the second grating allows for improved performance of the device, especially in terms of spectral selectivity: the presented technique leads to a decrease in the spectral bandwidth of the coupler.
